Barry X Lynn

Chairman and CEO

Barry Lynn brings to 3Tera hands on experience in data center innovation and deep understanding of enterprise customers and applications. He has over 35 years of executive experience in the IT and financial services sectors in Fortune 100 companies and as an entrepreneur.

Early in his career, Barry was with Wells Fargo, where he was executive vice president and head of Investment Operations before becoming chief information officer (CIO) of Wells Fargo and Company and president of Wells Fargo Technology Services. In 1995, while at Wells Fargo, he built the world's first Internet online banking system. Barry was also president of Wells Fargo Securities Clearance Corp. and founder and president of Wells Fargo Securities, Inc.

Prior to 3Tera Barry founded Be eXceL management, Inc., a management consulting firm, which incubated early stage technology companies. Additionally, Mr. Lynn is a general partner of SVP II, a fully invested venture fund managed by Shoreline Venture Management LLC.

Barry Lynn served as Chairman and CEO of PRIVACI, a provider of anonymous purchasing and personalized services for consumers on the Internet. He was Director of Merant PLC, a public software company, prior to its acquisition by Serena. Mr. Lynn is currently on the Boards of Directors of Alacritech, Attune Systems and Layer 7 Technologies.


Peter Nickolov

President, COO and CTO

Peter Nickolov is an experienced entrepreneur who has founded four companies. With 13 years of executive experience in startups developing highly innovative products and over 20 years of software development experience, Mr. Nickolov is a recognized expert in the areas of operating systems, real-time software, networking and storage. He has authored 35 patents and has over 50 innovations in the areas of operating systems, multithreading, kernel mode and real-time software, network protocols, file systems and computing resource aggregation.

As the President and COO of 3TERA, Peter is in charge of day to day business and operations of the company. He is one of the principal inventors of 3TERA's core technology.

Prior to 3Tera, Peter founded Z-force, a storage networking company that pioneered file switching and NAS aggregation, where he served as vice president of software. He led ZForce's engineering team to the successful delivery of a product that set records for file system performance, scalability and cost efficiency. Prior to Z-force, Peter founded Object Dynamics, a software company providing network infrastructure software, where he served as VP of Engineering. He also founded System Research, an infrastructure software company, where he developed the ProLink network operating system.

Peter holds the equivalent of a Bachelor degree in Physics and Computer Science from the Sofia State University in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Bert Armijo

Senior VP of Marketing and Product Management

Bert Armijo is a veteran of three startups. He brings to 3TERA 25 years of high-technology experience and has a proven ability to develop customer relationships, to communicate the value of new technologies to customers and to successfully plan and bring innovative products to market. In 3TERA Bert is responsible for product definition and customer relationships.

Prior to 3TERA, Bert was Director of Marketing with SolarFlare Communications, a fabless semiconductor startup developing a transceiver for 10GBASE-T. There he defined the company's product, working with key OEMs including Cisco Systems, Sun, Extreme Networks and Nortel.

Before SolarFlare, Bert was co-founder and Director of Marketing for fabric computing pioneering startup Topspin Communications. At Topspin, he developed the company's product roadmap for transparently combining LAN, SAN and server area networks into a virtualizable resource pool. Bert also worked with key OEMs including IBM, Sun, Dell and HP. Prior to Topspin, Bert was Director of Product Management for Nortel's High Performance Switching Division, launching the company's Enterprise LAN switch program, the Passport 8600, which he helped ramp to nearly $1 billion in annual sales in three years. Bert joined Nortel through the acquisition of Bay Networks, which had in turn acquired Gigabit Ethernet startup Rapid City Communications, where Bert was Director of Marketing. At Rapid City Bert was responsible for launching the first gigabit Ethernet routing switch in 1997. While at Bay Networks, Bert was also responsible for the launch of the BayStack brand targeting small and medium businesses and helped grow sales to more than $1billion. Bert has also held management positions with Cipher Data Products, California Peripherals, CMS Enhancements, and Mobius Technologies.

He received his BS in Computer Science from Cal State Fullerton and holds an MBA from Saint Mary's College.

Krasimira Nikolova

CFO and VP of Finance

Krassy Nikolova has founded four companies and has over 25 years of experience in finance, business administration, human resources and project management. Krassy brings to 3TERA a unique blend of expertise in early-stage companies, including funding, management and human resources. One of her key strengths is implementing sophisticated, yet low-overhead systems for planning, accounting, metrics-based financial and management controls, and Board reporting.

At 3TERA, she is responsible for finances, human resources and vendor management. She has managed the company formation, developed financial models, budgets and projections for the business plan, and also handled the due diligence and closing of the company's funding. She implemented the accounting system and manages all budgeting and accounting activities. As head of human resources, she is also involved in hiring and administers the company's stock option plan and benefit plans.

Prior to 3TERA, Krassy founded Z-force, a storage networking startup that pioneered file switching and NAS aggregation, where she served as VP Finance from its inception through April 2002.

Before that, she founded Object Dynamics, a network software company, and served as CFO from the company's inception in 1993 until 1999, when it folded into Z-force. Prior to Object Dynamics, Krassy founded System Research, an infrastructure software company and one of the first 50 private enterprises in Bulgaria, where she was responsible for finances and human resources. Prior to System Research, Krassy managed human resources for Sofproekt, the leading engineering firm in Bulgaria with over 2500 employees. She started her career as a rank and file customs officer and rapidly advanced through the system to the position of second in command at the Sofia International Airport customs service, the second largest in the country.

She holds the equivalent of a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Economics, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Eric TesslerEric Tessler

VP of Engineering

Eric Tessler has over 7 years of experience leading teams and delivering successfully new types of products in a fast-paced startup environment. He is an expert in object-oriented and system software development and leads the development of AppLogic grid operating system.

Prior to 3Tera, Eric was Lead Software Engineer within the scalable file system group at Z-force, where he built an aggregated file system combining multiple network file servers for increased capacity, high availability and performance.

Before Z-force, Eric was with Object Dynamics where he developed Windows user and kernel mode components and applications, Embedded NT system services and user interfaces for various applications.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California State University, Fullerton.

Robbie Vann-Adibč

VP of Sales

A serial entrepreneur with over twenty years of experience in technology, start-ups, consulting and financial services in the United States and Europe, Robbie Vann-Adibe has led organizations as a CEO, and managed sales and marketing teams. He has experience with consumer-based Web businesses as well as SaaS and large enterprise sales.

Prior to 3Tera, Vann-Adibe was the CEO of Method, a design firm in which he spearheaded major investment, taking the company to the next level of business development and operational activity.

Prior to Method, Vann-Adibe held positions as the turnaround CEO of Ecast and Co-CEO of Inspired Technology Group, an SMS mobile entertainment company based in London, currently called Inspired Broadcast Networks, an AIM listed company and Europe's largest networked entertainment provider.

Prior to Inspired, Vann-Adibe co-founded Viant Inc., a Web-services consultancy he helped build into an 850-person, $160 million run rate, NASDAQ listed firm.

Vann-Adibe has also held positions at Illustra, Oracle, and Seer Technologies. He began his career on Wall Street as a software developer building Trading and Settlement Systems for Morgan Stanley and First Boston.

Essy Nickolova

VP of Marketing Communications

Essy is a repeat entrepreneur and founder of two companies. She brings to 3TERA a unique combination of hands-on experience starting and managing a web application software company from inception to profitability, and solid expertise in technology media, public relations and marketing.

At 3TERA, Essy is focused on market strategy and outbound communication. She ensures the effective communication of 3TERA's message and is responsible for building the company's reputation with customers, partners, media and the investment community. In addition, Essy provides market research and analysis, tracking 3TERA's competitive landscape and ecosystem.

Before joining 3TERA, Essy founded Soft Orange LTD and served as the company's CEO until January 2003. Soft Orange is a Dutch-Bulgarian software company that provides web application development and consulting services to customers throughout the EU, including ABM Amro, ING, TNT Holdings BV and many others. Prior to Soft Orange, Essy served as Director of Marketing for ERIX, an IT solution provider for the financial services industry, state and local government, where she was responsible for all marketing activities and managed relationships with key customers including Union Bank and numerous agencies of the Bulgarian government such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Supreme Court and the Agency for Diplomatic Services.

Before her transition to marketing, she was a Senior News Editor for IDG's ComputerWorld/Bulgaria, and has worked with many publications including ComputerWorld, PC World and NetworkWorld. Essy started her career as a journalist covering the IT industry and still contributes articles to the technology press periodically.

She holds a Master of Arts degree from Veliko Turnovo University, Bulgaria.
